This and That for Thursday
This from Big Government
With a terrible feeling of pain and loss we announce the passing of
Andrew Breitbart.

Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after
midnight this morning in Los Angeles.
We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a
patriot and a happy warrior.
Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live
freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love.
Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous
Indignation:
I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun
while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I
love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies.
Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to
stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to
enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends,
perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At
the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well
at night.
Andrew is at rest, yet the happy warrior lives on, in each of us.
~~~ Budgets throughout the United States are being squeezed very tight.
This is especially true in areas such as school sports and fields our children
use. With the gentle weather we’ve had this winter thoughts of high school and
college sports occupy the mind.
I recall the days my son played high school and college baseball and the
difficult times his teams had in getting spring games in because of field
conditions. A wonderful solution to that sort of problem would have been solved
if we had artificial turf. The problem was a shortage of money to pay for such
projects.
Since we needed to play on natural turf the thought of competing on
artificial turf was merely a fantasy.
I have discovered the solution to that problem. Attack the USA. Yes, you
read that right. Kill Americans while acting out some terrorist ways and we’ll
incarcerate you in a nice area with a climate which allows you to wear shorts
and tees year around.
Because we’re so nice we will treat out terrorist captives to a chance
to play soccer whenever on a synthetic turf field. The ¾ million dollar field
will be for your exclusive use.
No that takes chutzpah.
Message from our Guantanamo Bay detainees – thanks suckers.
~~~ Is Barack Obama legally entitled to be President of the United
States?
Former Bostonian Joe Arpaio, who is now the Sherriff of Maricopa County,
Arizona, formed a posse to investigate allegations brought by members of the
Surprise, Arizona, Tea Party that the president’s birth certificate released to
the public by the White House on April 27 might be a forgery.
What’s the big deal you ask? If the charges are accurate Obama is not
legally entitled to serve as President of the United States.

Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution requires a president to be a
natural-born citizen.
Among other issues, there also have been allegations of Obama’s use of a
Social Security number that corresponds to a Connecticut address, the number
being used by Obama does not pass a check with E-Verify, the electronic system
the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services of the U.S. Department of
Homeland Security has created to verify whether or not someone is authorized to
work legally in the country.

~~~ Next week’s visit by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is
already being billed as a make-or-break meeting. The purpose of the meeting
will be Iran’s nuclear program and the prospects for war.
Israel appears closer than ever to taking military action against Iran. The
Israeli window of opportunity is somewhat limited. Their fear is the dictators
in Iraq will use a nuclear weapon whenever one is ready.
~~~ Last month, Mitt Romney belittled Newt Gingrich’s idea to colonize
the moon.
In the Florida debate Romney said, “I spent 25 years in business. If I
had a business executive come to me and say they wanted to spend a few hundred
billion dollars to put a colony on the moon, I'd say, 'You're fired.' "

While discussing the subject Tuesday, Gingrich said Romney "is the
kind of guy who would have fired Christopher Columbus.” Gingrich borrowed that line
from one of his supporters in Tennessee.
"You either believe we have vision — you know Lincoln had a vision
of a transcontinental railroad. The Wright brothers had a vision that they
could fly, Edison had a vision that we could have electric lights . . . We've
been a nation of visionaries. And while the cynics and the 'realists' ridicule
vision, I believe in the Bible's 'Without vision the people perish.' "
Gingrich has his back to the wall in next Tuesday’s primaries, including
Georgia and Tennessee.
~~~ A new Rasmussen Reports poll says Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker
has ticked off the public employee unions. His problems are in response to some
important changes in state laws concerning a bill he signed into law a year ago
limiting collective-bargaining rights for public sector unions. The measure led
to massive protests and recall efforts against several Republican and Democratic
senators last summer.
The opponents — mostly Democrats and union members recently filed
petitions with more than a million signatures calling for the recall election.
More tomorrow......
