This and
That Thursday (Including the Debate)
~~~
The Great debate lacked only one thing - spontaneity.
Both
Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum were well scripted. Add to that a tag team play between Romney
and Ron Paul. The tag team nature of the pair was about as transparent of a
heavy weight wrestling match. Newt Gingrich reminded me of a referee more than
a contestant.
Did
we learn anything new? I don’t recall anything of the sort. The only reteaming
moment of the night was when Newt blasted the media (yet again) for never
asking Barak Obama why he voted to permit infanticide (do you recall the
partial birth abortion fiasco?).
About
the only good thing provided by watching the debate; I didn’t have to watch yet
another poor Celtics showing.
Have you seen $6 per gallon gas yet?
Try Tampa, Florida. (http://tampa.cbslocal.com/2012/02/22/florida-drivers-shelling-out-nearly-6-a-gallon-at-some-gas-stations/)
~~~
In watching the goings on in Afghanistan makes me think we are a few years too
late in pulling out of there. We have bent over backwards to bring some sense
of order to this primitive peoples with no avail.

Declare
victory over terrorism and go home. Maybe isolationism is the way to go for
now. We should turn our focus to our hemisphere.
~~~
White House senior mouthpiece Valerie Jarrett said that unemployment stimulates
the economy because people who receive unemployment checks are going out and
spending them.
Talk
about tortured logic. She appears normal so maybe she was only repeating what
she was told to say.
~~~
While we’re on the subject of tortured logic there’s the case of former House
Speaker and current Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi who contends the Catholic
Church secretly "Ninety-eight percent of women in childbearing age that
are Catholic use contraception,” Pelosi, a Catholic, said in a speech at Texas
A&M University in College Station.

“So,
in practice, the church has not enforced this, and now they want the federal
government and private insurance to enforce it. It just isn't consistent to
me," a CNSNews.com report quotes the Minority (Democrat) Leader.
Cya
tomorrow.
