This and That for Wednesday
~~~ GOP debate tonight at 8PM Eastern on CNN. It could be the most
important debate of this election primary. While tens of millions of dollars have
been pledged to Newt Gingrich’s campaign, this debate will set the stage for the
election battles for the next few weeks.
Wins for Gingrich over the next few debates puts him back in the race.
Rick Santorum needs to prove his recent successes were not a fluke while Mitt
Romney needs to win in Michigan and Arizona to regain his momentum.
Keep an eye on Ron Paul to see who he is attacking to know whether he is
a shill for Romney.
It should be interesting to see how Santorum handles religious questions
on remarks he made in 2008. If he handles the early questions well it should
put some of his remarks to rest. If not we could witness the beginning of the
end for him. Of the four on the stage tonight this should be a defining moment
for the former senator.
Fasten your seat belts we’re in for a wild ride.
~~~ The surge in crude oil prices is now at $106. Will it go up more?

If gas at the pump reaches $5 per gallon, a fifteen gallon fill-up will
cost $75. For a working family that is beyond the reach of their budget.
Talk about pain at the pump! Some Florida
drivers are spending nearly $6 a gallon to fill up their gas tanks already.
It’s a good thing Barack Obama said no to the Keystone Pipeline.
~~~ It will be interesting to see whether the two Republican presidential
candidates who are Catholic have an ash cross on their forehead during tonight’s
GOP debate.
Newt Gingrich and Ron Santorum are devout Catholics. I don’t know for
certain whether there are rules pertaining to the ash crosses and whether or
not they may be removed after receiving them.
We’ll have a commentary about tonight’s debate tomorrow.
Ciao…….Moe Lauzier
