This and That for Tuesday

~~~ What’s wrong with the Romney campaign? Simple! We have yet to hear the candidate’s personal views on the crucial issues of the day.
The only true expression of why he took a given position on a certain issue occurred during his campaign for governor when he told of his mother’s dedication to Planned Parenthood. That’s when he explained why he was “pro-choice”.
Romney was the Mormon equivalence of a minister in his church in Belmont, Massachusetts. He tells of the time he needed to minister to a young lady in his church who was in a motherly way and how it was imperative he support her efforts to obtain an abortion. That experience coupled with his mother’s work in Planned Parenthood made him “pro-choice”.
A miracle occurred after he decided to make public his interest in running for president, he converted to pro-life. Overnight.
How deep is his commitment to life and reliable in the pro-life cause would he be as president?
Why has Romney reached a plateau in his run for president? The answer is simple; Mitt Romney has yet to demonstrate passion in explaining why he is running for president. Can you ame an issue he feels passionate about?
It is difficult to pin Romney down on any given issue to which he is emotionally attached. He comes across in this corner as the stealth candidate much as Barack Obama did in the last election cycle.
~~~ I had a wild dream a couple of nights ago. In it the GOP presidential primary became stalemated with none of the four remaining candidates had a clear majority of the delegates come convention time. If that were to occur we would have an open convention after the first ballot. After the first the delegate pledges would no longer be binding and a candidate or two could emerge to challenge the other four.

A reasonable person could see the emergence of an establishment type and an outsider. Among the establishment types could be Chris Christy and Jeb Bush with opposition surfacing for a conservative such as Sarah Palin.
What are the chances such a scenario could play out? We’d have to say very little - but not impossible. There are many of us who would delight in a say, Palin vs. Obama presidential race.

You know, that could be quite interesting.

Add to all this silliness an effort by Democrat renegades running Hillary Clinton in the Democrat primaries. On second thought, that would be too far out.

~~~ The clock is ticking on the time span when Israel may be able to eliminate the Iranian atomic bomb manufacturing capability. Most news stories indicate the window of opportunity runs from April to June. After that the ability to destroy what Iran has been building for a few years passes.
It is interesting many Moslem mid-East countries are favorable to the idea of an Israeli attack on the bomb making facilities in Iraq. There is a good reason why many Arab states would be supportive or at least not in active opposition to such an Israeli move is because of the fear of a nuclear Iran and historical animosity the region has for Persians.
Don’t be surprised to learn Israel had ended Iran’s threat as an atomic power.
It is interesting to note the Obama Administration is opposed to the Israeli’s taking out Iran’s nuclear bomb facilities. Maybe Obama does not believe the Iranians would use the bomb here inn the USA. The bomb they will have would at least be a bargaining tool. Is there any doubt that Iran could actually use such a weapon there or even here in the USA.
~~~ Barack Obama may be on the verge of keeping one of his campaign promises. Which one? Four or five dollar a gallon gasoline is well on its way. Gasoline is currently skyrocketing toward the four dollar mark and may not stop until it hits five dollars.

Any hopes for a recovery from the current recession could be dashed and we could be thrown into a depression. The Obama administration has been using bookkeeping gimmicks to keep the data appearing as though things are somehow OK.
Things are not OK and we are at the edge of the cliff. We get the sense the administration is simply trying to fake its way past the upcoming presidential election. We’ll leave to your imagination what would happen after an Obama reelection.

~~~ On the subject of the Obama attack on Catholics, with his abortion/birth control measures the Catholic Church must provide procedures or provide for such procedures has drawn Catholics together in league with their church leaders. Here’s the summary of the Rasmussen pole done on the subject:
“A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 59% of likely Catholic voters nationwide at least somewhat disapprove of the president’s job performance, while 40% at least somewhat approve. But the passion’s on the side of those who don’t like the job he’s doing: 44% Strongly Disapprove versus 19% who Strongly Approve.”
Something tells us there was a serious miscalculation on the part of Obama’s minions.
More tomorrow…..
